MARKETING ASSISTANT

Location: Hybrid Remote (with minimum of 1-2 visits to the Tasting Room in Upper Tract, WV per month)

Hours: Full-time/40 hours per week

Swilled Dog, an award-winning craft beverage company based in West Virginia, is looking for a Marketing Assistant to join our team. We’re seeking a creative, passionate and self-motivated team member who wants to love where they work. The ideal candidate needs to be organized, reliable and have knowledge or interest in a variety of marketing disciplines.

This position will work with the Director of Marketing to help plan and execute marketing communications both on and offline. The Marketing Assistant will support all areas of the business to help drive brand awareness, sales, and visitors to our tasting rooms in Upper Tract, WV. 

Working remotely, the ideal candidate will need great time-management skills and focus. Our team is very proactive and creative and we love to bring ideas to life quickly. Responsibilities:

Content Creation:

  • Collaborate with the Director of Marketing to develop an annual social media strategy, fostering a sense of community with our customers and loyal fans
  • Generate fresh and authentic content from our distillery, cidery, and tasting rooms for all digital platforms, including social media, website, blog, and newsletters
  • Execute posting across all social media channels according to Swilled Dog's social media strategy
  • Assist with the organization and coordination of photo and video shoots when necessary Manage the archiving of photos and videos for future use
  • Monitor social media and industry trends

Online Marketing:

  • Assist in optimizing and updating the website to enhance user experience, drive traffic, and boost sales
  • Online reviews and reputation management: Encourage satisfied customers to leave reviews on platforms like Google, Yelp, and TripAdvisor. Monitor and respond promptly to both positive and negative reviews to maintain a positive online reputation

Graphic Design

  • Develop creative marketing materials, including point-of-sale materials, advertising, and digital content
  • Update and modify existing marketing collateral, including brochures, posters, trade show materials, and digital assets.

Tasting Room Marketing:

  • Work with the Director of Marketing to create an annual marketing program aimed at increasing visits to our tasting room
  • Provide support through the design of print and promotional materials
  • Develop compelling social media content that builds a strong brand image and narrates the story of our tasting room experience
  • Promote events and activities through all online channels
  • Design and manage a loyalty program that focuses on retaining customers and increasing engagement with our loyal followers
  • Manage the design and ordering process for apparel and merchandise, working with vendors and suppliers

Overall Marketing Support:

  • Contribute creatively to marketing campaigns and promotions
  • Develop and maintain a database of local market, state, national and trade media contacts; assist with pitching stories, writing press releases, fact sheets, and media-related materials
  • Act as a brand champion, responding to consumer inquiries and confidently representing our brand and product portfolio
  • Organize and maintain marketing assets and photo/video archive
  • Work with external vendors and partners to coordinate marketing activities and print materials

Requirements:

  • Degree in Marketing or a relevant field or at least 1 year of experience in a marketing environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience with graphic design or basic knowledge of design software (Adobe Creative Suite)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with digital tools (i.e. Google Drive)
  • Experience with social media platforms

TASTING ROOM MANAGER

Summary:  

Swilled Dog is seeking a highly organized and enthusiastic Tasting Room Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting cider and whiskey tastings, leading tours, coordinating workshops and events, and assisting with the promotion of events. As the Tasting Room Manager, you will be a key member of the team responsible for providing exceptional customer experiences and ensuring that our guests have a memorable time at our tasting rooms.

*This position requires you to be TIPS trained and gain a food handlers card after being hired.

Essential duties and responsibilities include: 

  • Support Swilled Dog’s core values and purpose
  • Responsible for patron relations including answering phone calls for the tasting room
  • Conduct in-depth cider and whiskey tastings that educate guests on the unique qualities and flavors of our products
  • Serve small food menu to customers and fulfill table orders while maintaining the bar
  • Answer visitor's questions and be able to provide general tourist information
  • Be open to working and assisting with special events outside of normal hours if needed
  • Handle routine purchasing transactions, which include operating cash register
  • Work in a collaborative team environment and open to performing other duties as assigned by Operations Manager
  • Lead tours of our production facilities, educating guests on the processes and techniques used to create our ciders and whiskeys
  • Coordinate workshops and events that engage our guests and provide opportunities for them to learn about our products in a fun and interactive way
  • Assist with the creation of social media content that showcases our products and promotes our events and workshops
  • Maintain a clean and organized tasting room that provides a welcoming and comfortable environment for our guests
  • Ensure that our tasting room experiences are in compliance with all local, state and federal regulations
  • Manage inventory and order supplies as needed to ensure that we have everything necessary to provide exceptional tasting room experiences
  • Assist Operations Manager with recruiting, hiring and training of new employees
  • Create a seasonal cocktail menu that showcases the bold flavors of our spirits on a quarterly basis 
  • Build a rotating food menu based on the needs of our customers
  • Monitor sales to make educated decisions on sale promotions in both the cidery and whiskey room to boost metrics
  • Build tasting room staff schedule and manage time off requests
  • Partner with operations manager and production team to ensure the tasting room staff receive the appropriate level of sales, product and general cider/ spirits training and education
  • Coordinate private events in the tasting room 
  • Assist with facilities management
  • Other duties as assigned by the management team

Part-Time Tasting Room Attendant

Summary:  

As a key member of our experience team, the Swilled Dog Tasting Room Attendant is a part-time position responsible for ensuring that customers receive the full Swilled Dog brand experience each time they come to the cidery and distillery. The candidate must be open to learning the details of the ciders and spirits we produce and our general operations. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Greeting customers promptly and courteously; communicating the Swilled Dog story; guiding customers through ciders and spirits they enjoy; setting up and cleaning up daily operations and special events; stocking cider, spirits and retail merchandise in the tasting rooms; accurately performing daily beverage inventory and money handling procedures.
