A Gin Margarita? Trust Us - You’re Gonna Love it!

Recipes

National Margarita Day is all about celebrating a classic, but who says it can’t be reinvented? We’re swapping out the tequila and giving it an upgrade. The result? A  crisp and botanical take on the classic margarita that highlights the unique flavors of our Mon Forest Reserve Dry Gin.

Mon Forest Gin Margarita Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz Mon Forest Reserve Dry Gin
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • ¾ oz orange liqueur (like Cointreau or triple sec)
  • ½ oz simple syrup (adjust to taste)
  • Ice
  • Salt for rimming (optional)
  • Lime wheel for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Rim a glass with lime juice and dip it into salt for a classic margarita touch (optional but recommended!).
  2. In a shaker, combine gin, lime juice, orange liqueur, and simple syrup with ice.
  3. Shake well until chilled.
  4. Strain into a glass filled with fresh ice.
  5. Garnish with a lime wheel and enjoy!

Why Gin Instead of Tequila?

We know what you’re thinking. But, trust us - this works and it may even be better than the original. While tequila is the traditional base for a margarita, the gin brings a unique, botanical twist to the cocktail. The juniper-forward and citrusy notes complement the tart lime and orange flavors beautifully, creating a well-balanced and refreshing sip.
