MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (WBOY) — On Tuesday, West Virginia University Athletics announced that Swilled Dog is now the “Official Bourbon of WVU Athletics.”

According to a joint press release, Swilled Dog, a West Virginia-based distillery in Pendleton County, has entered a “multi-year partnership” with the university to produce co-branded bottles of bourbon starting in August.

The release also said that branded bottles will be available outside of West Virginia through Swilled Dog’s distribution partners, so fans not living in the Mountain State should still be able to get their hands on a bottle of “official” WVU Athletics bourbon when they become available later this year.

The partnership also means that sports fans will begin seeing and hearing Swilled Dog advertising during WVU Athletics radio broadcasts and “in-venue signage” at WVU sporting events.

Swilled Dog already has ties to WVU sports through its partnership with the Country Roads Trust, and has done several limited bourbon releases over the last 18 months as part of that partnership.
